Stuart Bailey on Richard Hollis
Stuart Bailey, a founding member of the visual art/graphic design collective Dexter Sinister, will discuss the wide-ranging influence of the legendary British designer Richard Hollis (born 1934). Bailey is the co-curator of Artists Space’s current exhibition devoted to Hollis’s career as a pioneering graphic artist, magazine editor, educator, and writer. Hollis’s seminal books include the design of the classic Penguin edition of John Berger’s Ways of Seeing (1972), the cut-and-paste collage covers of The New Society (1965-68), and Graphic Design: A Concise History (1994).
Stuart Bailey’s talk “The Truth About Hollis” will take place on Thursday, September 26 at 7 PM.
