Where the mood hammers home the artist’s indignation and fury, Rosler’s political message is strikingly less precise. Presumably, by substituting fashionistas for troops there is an implication of whim and frivolity in American’s military adventure.  Fashion also signifies the sensory indulgence of oblivious citizens on the home front who are held up to castigation.
